Koto is a favorite hibachi restaurant for our family, and it has been for many years. Our kids now ask to go to Koto for their birthday. We love the cooking acrobatics, and the fire, and more fire… the food is exquisite (try that yum yum sauce with your chicken, steak or shrimp). Our family’s favorite is the fried rice, always so full of flavors. For those on a budget, it is worth splitting a meal as there is often plenty of food for 2. Definitely split a meal if you have kids. Note that the cocktails are very affordable ($7.50).
Highly recommended in Norman. Make sure you reserve before going, Koto is very popular and the wait line can be long, especially in the weekends.
This is a lively and popular place! The hibachi chefs all do a good job of having fun, but there is definitely a wide variety of skill. The chicken is the cheapest hibachi option and it is quite good, but if you like shrimp then the shrimp is definitely worth it for an extra $2.
Overall, it’s pretty good hibachi and my wife and I will keep returning!
I came with my girlfriend for our first year anniversary and let me say this is by far the best hibachi I have ever had in my life. Even on family vacations to the Caribbean I have never had such high quality food. I ate everything on my plate. She and I got the lover’s special which gives you 2 steak portions and 2 chicken portions between the two of you for like 40 dollars. I could easily have payed 60-70 in Tulsa for two people for something not near as good as Koto. On top of that you’re getting absolutely the rice, the noodles, the veggies, the shrimp, and even an ice cream dessert after that’s all inclusive. Usually places I’ve been to had one or two really good items of the bunch but everything I tasted here was just so top notch. 100% would recommend anyone to come here. Genuinely my new favorite japanese restaurant.
This place is dirty and greasy. The sushi was average. My wife had habachi and the cook slung juice/grease on her three times while putting her food on the plate (he was going too fast). The fried rice was burnt. The cook cooked an entire filet of fish and then realized no one ordered it and had to throw it away. Big emphasis on this place is dirty and greasy.
My son and I visited here for my birthday the first time he had ever been to a Japanese steakhouse. He had the best time.... he is really picky about his food and I didn't think he would like it,,,, he loved the onion soup and wanted more. The staff were very friendly and the chef was entertaining so we will definitely be coming back
We had the most delicious food and the best experience! Our chef was hilarious and cooked everything to perfection. You get a lot of food for what you pay for, so be prepared to bring home leftovers. The price was definitely reasonable since it comes with SO much food. You get soup and salad, a small shrimp appetizer, plus the entree that includes your meat, noodles, fried rice, and grilled vegetables.
The cook was great, the food was amazing, and the overall experience was really well presented. Our waiter was great and made sure we had what we needed and asked for. Highly recommend this place.
Took nearly an hour for two orders of hibachi and rice. Food sat out on counter for a good 20 minutes while they said we should wait for the rest of our food. I ordered steak hibachi with white rice, got maybe a handful of rice while my partner got an almost full container of rice. Entire piece of shrimp at the bottom of my steak hibachi, wouldn't recommend takeout if you don't want juices from your food everywhere or have an allergic reaction to shellfish when you only ordered steak. Asked for extra seasoning, absolutely none on there. Fried rice was barely cooked and overly greasy. Spent $50 for barely any food and poor quality. If I wanted poor quality, I would have asked my white-white grandma to make it. Then again I think she could have done better at only 85 years old with a tremor. One and only time me and my partner will be eating here.
